Am I the only one who seems to get caught running to Target the night before the school Valentine party, rummaging through the picked-over shelves looking for an easy class Valentine because somehow time got away from me!
If you’re also the Queen of Procrastination and looking for a unique, easy Valentine your kids can create with materials you probably already have at home, I love this simple, but so fun DIY.
Materials:
Glue
Colored cardstock
Scissors
Sharpie
- Fold a piece of brown cardstock in half to act as your card.
- Cut five hearts out of colors of your choice.
- Gather your paper hearts. Fold five of the hearts in half. Use your glue stick to add glue to one of the folded heart halves. Then glue another heart half onto it. Continue adding glue and adding a paper heart until all five have been glued together, creating a 3D heart air balloon.
- Add glue to one of the outside halves of the 3D heart and glue it onto the card. Then add glue on the opposite heart half and glue it down onto the other side of the card.
- With white cardstock, cut out cloud shapes and glue them to the card.
- Using your black sharpie, draw a simple line-drawing of a basket.
- Write your message inside.
