The wonderful thing about this recipe is not only is it refreshing, you can easily add booze, if that is what you like. In addition, the strawberry syrup can also be used as a topping on waffles, or icecream.
Most recipes call for soda or seltzer water, but what makes this one unique is the use of Kombucha in place of the normal mixer. If you don’t know Kombucha is fermented tea (which sounds kind of gross….but I assure you it is amazing) it has an effervescent bubbly taste and is full of gut healthy probiotics.
Ingredients
- 2 cups Strawberries
- 1 cup Sugar
- 1 cup Water
- Mint
- Lime
- Ice
- Mothers Kombucha, Lavender Mojito (* you can also substitute lime or unflavored seltzer water)
Directions:
Step 1 – Make Simple Syrup
Combine sugar, water and cut strawberries in a pot, bring to a boil. Continue to stir, reducing to a simmer for about 5-10 minutes. Remove from heat, let cool and transfer to a air tight container.
Step 2: Assemble Mocktail
Add Strawberry Syrup to glass // Throw in some Mint // Muddle Together // Add a dash of lime juice // Toss in Ice // Top with Kombucha (or seltzer) to taste // Stir // Enjoy
