Dry Brushing Your Skin

Everyone knows you need to brush your hair (except maybe my kids!) but did you know you also need to brush your skin? Wait a minute. Brush your what?!

I’m serious! It’s a thing! And it actually has a ton of health benefits. I was first introduced to the concept  during a massage that I had, while on a Disney Cruise.

So what are the benefits? Aside from exfoliating, brushing your skin also provides lymphatic support, cleans your pores, naturally boosts your energy, and my personal favorite, reduces cellulite!

HOW DO YOU DO IT
So how do you do it? Start by selecting the right brush. Use a firm, natural bristle brush with a long handle to allow you to reach your entire back and easily brush the bottoms of your feet and the backs of your legs.

Starting at the feet, brush the bottoms of your feet and up your legs in long, smooth strokes. For lymph flow, always brush toward the heart/chest area where the lymph system drains. Repeat ten times.
Repeat the same process with the arms, starting with the palms of the hands and brushing up the arm toward the heart. Again, brush each section of skin ten times.
On the stomach and armpits, brush in a circular clockwise motion.
Repeat the process on your abdomen and back.
